U.P. Cooperative Federation Ltd. Popularly known as PCF (Pradeshik Co-operative Federation) was established on 11 th June, 1943 at Lucknow ( India ), the state capital of U.P.– the most populace state of the country.

It was aimed at serving the masses in general and the farmers in particular through procurement of their agricultural produce and its marketing to consumers. Subsequently it enlarged its area of operation through setting up of processing units and distribution of various agricultural inputs by opening its offices in every district of the province and at every regional headquarter of the state besides branches at important Mandi stations within and outside the state.

Making an humble start with a manpower of 30 persons and paid up capital of Rs. 13600/-, today it has a manpower of 1850 persons and a paid up capital of Rs. 70.00 crore. the turnover of PCF is about 4405.86 crore upto June 2018..

UPPCF Organization Management

Highest authority of the Federation is the General Body which is constituted by the elected representatives of the member societies. General Body elects a Board having 14 members. Two members are nominated by the State Government. Honorary members of the Board elect 1 Chairman and 1 Vice-chairman. Managing Director of P.C.F is the ex-officio member of the Board.

PCF Achivement’s

Fertilizer :

PCF undertakes handling, transport and storage of fertilizers for IFFCO, KRIBHCO etc. ensuring timely distribution to the farmers through its co-operative network viz, the co-operative socities and PCF’s Krishak Seva Kendras. The procurement and distribution of zinc sulphate is also ensured as per demand of the societies or the target fixed by the Government.

Seed/Agriculture Input :

Certified seeds procured from U.P. Seed Corporation, Tarai Development Corporation & KRIBHCO etc, are supplied to farmers through the Co-operative net-work at subsidized rates as per policy of the Government . Procurement and distribution of agriculture inputs like insecticides, pesticides,etc. to farmers is also ensured through the co-operative network.

Marketing of Agriculture Produce :

Procurement of farmer’s agriculture produce at remunerative price and its subsequent marketing within and outside the state is done directly as well as on behalf of other state/central co-operative agencies like NAFED etc.

Distribution of Levy Sugar :

Under levy sugar scheme of govt. sugar is procured from sugar mills and is delivered to the Food Civil Supplies Deptt. of U.P. Govt. for public distribution scheme (PDS).

Distribution of Coal :

According to the policies of Government of Uttar Pradesh and Coal India Ltd. since 40 years P.C.F on the recommendations of the District Magistrate, has been allotting slack coal to the authorized Brick owners.Now pre arrangement facility has been stopped by the Government of U.P.At Present coal would be received through E-Auction from Coal India Ltd. and its related organizations. Therefore departments of PCF has been set up at Dhanbad and Kolkata.

Price Support Scheme :

Procurement of various agriculture produces, is done under central and state pool as per directions of Government of India and the State Government every year through the co-operative network. The produce is purchased directly from the farmers and delivered to the Food Corporation of India and other agencies like SWC/CWC/Food Dept. as per direction of the Government.
